What is construction site security?

Construction site security is the protection of a building site against theft, vandalism, sabotage and unauthorised access. Someone watches who wants to enter the site, what happens at night, and whether materials, tools and installations are where they should be.

In practice it's always a combination: access control at the gate during the day, mobile patrols in the evenings, camera monitoring with control-room response overnight. You choose what fits the phase of your project.

What does construction site security cost?

There's no fixed hourly rate. The price depends on:

  • Number of security officers and team leaders
  • Duration and time blocks (nights, weekends and public holidays count differently)
  • Risk profile of your project and location
  • Deployment: physical guarding, mobile patrols, camera plus control room or a combination
  • Project duration and flexibility per construction phase

A camera trailer records what happens but doesn't intervene. A construction security officer is physically present, handles access control and resolves incidents on the spot. In practice we often combine physical presence during the day with camera monitoring and control-room response at night.
