Security for data centers by Kilic Security

Data center security with one point of control

Data centers are the heart of modern organisations: they hold sensitive data, host business-critical IT systems and have to stay operational at all times. A single incident (an intrusion, unauthorised access, sabotage or a missed alarm) can cost your customers millions and damage your reputation. That is why the physical security of a data center has to line up with your compliance requirements, your control room and your IT security procedures.

Kilic Security specialises in the security of data centers, colocation halls and high-risk IT environments. We provide ND-certified officers with a valid security ID, one dedicated point of contact for multi-site assignments and 24/7 availability through on-call duty. Nationwide coverage, including nights and weekends.

Everyone who enters checks out down to the badge

Every visitor, engineer or supplier is verified at the gate on ID and badge, escorted according to tenant procedure and logged per zone. Mantrap operation, tailgating prevention and key and badge issuing are 100% traceable by person, time and room. So you know at any moment who was where, and why.

Why data centers need specialist security

A data center is not an office with a reception desk. Behind the facade run the systems your customers rely on for their operations, their payments and their communications. Every unauthorised visit, every missed alarm and every unclear key hand-over can ripple through to dozens of tenants. Physical security therefore has to do more than keep people out: it has to be demonstrable and traceable at every moment, for every zone.

That calls for officers who wear more than one hat. They are the gatekeeper, they coordinate between engineers, suppliers and tenants, and they are the first line when an alarm goes off. They know the tier classification of your hall, they notice when an engineer is working outside protocol, and they stay calm when the fire panel goes off. Kilic Security provides fixed teams that do this work day in, day out, in data centers ranging from single-tenant to hyperscale.

The human link in a layered model

Perimeter, mantrap, zone access and rack access are all monitored separately. Our officer on site is the link that makes that model work: verifying visitors at the desk, escorting engineers to their hall, keeping key management up to date and escalating to the control room or your NOC as soon as anything falls outside protocol. If nothing happens, that is the result.

Day-to-day practice on the floor

A shift starts with the hand-over: open incidents, planned engineering visits, alerts from the night. Then the post takes over: visitor registration and ID verification, issuing temporary access passes and the first round past mantrap, halls and rooftop installations. Between rounds the front desk stays covered, precisely because most incidents are not intrusions but a tenant with a question or an engineer working outside their authorisation.

Every action is logged digitally: which round, which key, which visitor, which incident. When an alarm goes off (fire, intrusion, technical fault or unauthorised access) the officer verifies the alert, brings in police, fire brigade or your NOC and keeps the situation under control on site until the right party takes over. The following morning an auditable incident report lands with your operations team. Continuity is the product; all you notice is that nothing happens.

Aligning with your compliance track and NOC

Data center security never stands on its own. You work with audits, tenant SLAs, internal security procedures and a NOC that runs 24/7. We plug into that with a structured intake, a written security plan aligned with both facility and IT security, and a fixed escalation protocol with your own parties. That way everyone (officer, facility, NOC and compliance) knows who does what, even at three in the morning.

One point of control, also across sites

We take the time to learn your location, your tier requirements and your compliance scope before the first shift runs. From there the control stays in one place: one dedicated point of contact, one reporting line and one set of procedures across all your locations, with on-call duty available 24/7.
