In logistics the risks sit in different places than in an office or production plant. The biggest exposure is at the docks: short load and unload windows, many drivers you have never met, temporary staff walking between trailers and pallets briefly unattended on the floor. Theft from trailers, pallet swaps, unauthorised entry through an open dock door and internal losses all come together right there. And most of it happens during the day, in the middle of the operation, not at night.

Warehouse security therefore takes more than a fence and a camera. It takes a fixed team that knows your processes (which carrier loads when, which order mix comes in, which shift is starting), a gate that recognises drivers before they roll in, cameras that watch the docks and the warehouse floor and a control room that responds the moment a detection comes in. The human link on dock and floor

ANPR and cameras only deliver when someone responds. Our on-site officer is that link: recognising drivers at the gate, registering visitors and suppliers, keeping oversight at the docks during loading and unloading, running targeted warehouse rounds and escalating to the control room, your shift lead or emergency services the moment something falls outside protocol.

A shift starts with the handover: open incidents, expected trailers, scheduled maintenance parties and staffing per shift. Then the gate runs: ANPR reads the number plate, the driver reports in, paperwork and pick-up reference are checked and the trailer is assigned a dock. At the dock the officer or dock master keeps oversight of loading and unloading; on the floor preventive rounds cover order pick lanes, return zones and the perimeter. Between rounds the gate stays staffed.

Driver check-ins, visitors and incidents are logged digitally and traceably. When an alarm comes in (a perimeter camera detection, an open dock door outside its window, a forced entry or a suspicious situation) the control room reviews the footage, briefs the officer on site and dispatches emergency services or your duty manager in parallel. The next morning a clear report lands with your operations or security lead.
